Cloudforests Tree Education pack

Each school and community facility that we plant an urban forest in will receive their own customised tree education pack, full of fun facts and information about the trees planted in their forest.

This pack is handwritten by our own Woodland Manager, and will help the students identify the trees in their forests throughout the seasons.

Wild Things At School

Written by Ireland's foremost wildlife expert and Tree Council President, Éanna Ní Lamhna and illustrated by Christine Warner, Wild Things at School is a teaching aid for primary school teachers.

The book is divided into eight sections - one for each year of primary school from Junior Infants through to Sixth Class.

Each section comprises six species of Irish birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, invertebrates, wildflowers, plants, and trees. By the time primary school children leave for secondary school they will know all about 48 Irish wildlife species. T

he vast majority of these species might easily be found in their own school grounds, especially if there is an urban forest present.

Wild Things at School is a perfect companion piece for our urban forests schools program. Part of our mission is to help to educate children about the value and vital importance of the natural world.

Even if you don’t have space for one of our urban forests in your school, we urge you to download a free copy of Wild Things at School above and include it as part of your school curriculum.
