Our urban forests are small biodiverse woodlands which we plant in schools and businesses in towns and cities throughout Ireland, using native Irish trees and shrubs.

What a start to our Urban Forest programme!
Thanks to everyone who helped us make our first urban forest planting season amazing in 2023/24 - what an impact these forests will have on the communities and schools they’re planted in.
Afforestation
Our urban forests are planted very densely with three trees per square metre. These forests absorb more than 30 times more carbon than grass lawns and help to reduce global warming.
Education
We work with schools to create a space for an outdoor forest classroom. We also provide educational resources for students to learn about the trees they are planting and the ecosystems they are protecting.
Conservation
Our urban forests provide natural habitats for Irish wildlife. Our forests are powerful weapons in revitalising biodiversity and providing safe harbours in urban environments for a wide range of different species.
