St. Oliver’s Community College is a multi-denominational, co-educational school for boys and girls from local towns and villages in and around Drogheda. The College has the ideal platform for students to thrive socially as well as academically with a 50:50 mix of girls and boys.

They are very proud of their tradition of inspiring sporting and cultural success as well as academic excellence culminating in students scoring first in Ireland for Leaving Certificate 2017 and among the top results in 2020 and 2021.

Under the patronage of Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB), the College has grown into one of the most successful schools in the country. This is largely due to the expertise, talent and commitment of our team of teachers and support staff who create a vibrant, student-centred environment in which each individual student is supported to reach their potential.

We’re so thrilled to be bringing an Urban Forest to the fabulous facility at St. Oliver’s Community College.

Forest Sponsors

We’re very lucky to be supported by our CoolPartners who contribute towards our forest creations. Their support ensures that we can deliver these forests with no financial cost to the school. We are also delighted when our CoolPartners join us on the event days to help us deliver the forest creation, as they did for the events in St Oliver’s Community College.

Lead Sponsor

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

We were delighted to partner with AWS InCommunities as we delivered Urban Forests through the 2023/24 planting season.

AWS were the Lead Sponsor for this wonderful forest developed in St Oliver’s Community College, bringing biodiversity and nature into this wonderful school in the heart of the Drogheda community. Their sponsorship means that this forest was provided at no cost to the school, keeping the school’s funds where they’re most needed.

Our CoolPartners

Soil Prep Day

9th November 2023

The weather was in our favour today, nice and dry! We were joined by volunteers from AWS InCommunities, who are generously sponsoring this forest creation, as well as Cloudforest CoolPartners CET Connect and Usee.

The Transition Year class also joined us, and worked like trojans moving cardboard to the site, removing plastic tape, and spreading the bark mulch out over the cardboard base.

Everyone pulled together, and we got through this site prep event in record time - just under an hour and a half, including clean up and photos!! This was in no small part thanks to the TY students who helped move the mulch closer to the site yesterday!

Planting Day

27th February 2024

It was a rainy day for the planting day, but that just meant we didn’t need to water in the trees! The students wear absolute champs, working without complaint and joined by Amazon AWS volunteers and CoolPartners CET Connect.

A big shout out to AWS InCommunities for sponsoring this forest!
